Boysenberry Picking – Seasonal Orchard Work (January – December)
Be part of the harvest team bringing in Nelson’s famous boysenberries. Harvesting is done using a mechanical boysenberry harvester operated by an experienced, trained driver. As part of the team, you’ll work alongside the machine grading fruit carefully to ensure only berries that meet quality standards are collected.
You’ll be provided with all the necessary protective gear, including aprons, earmuffs, sleeve guards, gloves, and hair or beard nets (if required). Supervisors will show you the correct techniques and provide guidance throughout the harvest.
It’s important to follow instructions from the Quality Supervisor to make sure fruit is handled properly and grading standards are met. You’ll also need to take care when working on or near harvest machinery and tractors, always following the correct safety procedures to protect yourself and your co-workers.
This role suits people who enjoy fast-paced outdoor work, can follow directions carefully, and take pride in producing premium-quality berries.
