Growing Feijoas in Nelson
We proudly grow feijoas on 4 hectares of orchard in the Nelson region. Nelson’s temperate climate, with its long sunshine hours and well-draining soils, provides the perfect conditions for producing feijoas of exceptional flavour and quality. Our location in the Tasman district allows us to capture both the early warmth of spring and the long, settled summers that feijoas thrive in.
The Fruit
Feijoas are renowned for their distinctive aroma and sweet, tangy flavour. Packed with vitamin C, antioxidants, and dietary fibre, they are a seasonal favourite for both fresh eating and culinary use. Our fruit is carefully managed from flowering to harvest to ensure optimum size, taste, and quality.
Orchard Management
We manage our feijoa orchards with the same precision and care as our other crops. This includes:
- Soil health – monitored to ensure balanced nutrition and strong root development.
- Pollination – enhanced by bird activity and supplementary management practices.
- Pruning – carried out annually to improve airflow, light penetration, and fruit set.
- Sustainability – integrated pest management and environmentally responsible practices are central to our operation.
