Feijoa Pruning – Seasonal Orchard Work (June – July)
Help prepare feijoa trees for a strong, healthy crop by joining our orchard team as a pruner. Using secateurs, loppers, or saws, you’ll carefully shape the trees to the grower’s requirements. This typically involves removing upright older wood, branches that are too close to the ground, or those that have become too large. You’ll also remove broken branches and diseased wood to maintain the health of the trees.
For larger cuts, you’ll apply a protective sealant to prevent disease. Supervisors will provide guidance to ensure pruning is carried out correctly and consistently.
This role is well suited to people who are hands-on, enjoy working outdoors, and can follow instructions carefully. Attention to detail and pride in producing quality work are key to success.
