Kiwifruit Flower Thinning and Tip Crushing – Seasonal Orchard Work (October – November)

Join our team this season and play an important role in producing premium New Zealand kiwifruit. This role involves two key tasks:

  • Flower thinning – carefully removing trebles, misshapen or damaged flowers to ensure only the best remain, helping balance crop load and achieve the right fruit size and quality.
  • Tip crushing – managing the vine’s growth tips to encourage stronger fruit development and improve overall orchard performance.

You’ll receive guidance and support from a Quality Supervisor, who will provide clear instructions to help you complete each task to the highest standard.

This role is well-suited to people who enjoy working outdoors, can follow directions carefully, and take pride in producing quality results. Attention to detail, reliability, and a positive attitude will help you succeed in this hands-on orchard work.

  • Attention to detail – able to identify and remove trebles, misshapen or damaged flowers accurately.

  • Good hand–eye coordination – working carefully to protect the remaining flowers and vines.

  • Physical fitness and stamina – comfortable working outdoors on foot for extended periods.

  • Consistency – maintains high-quality standards across different vines and orchard blocks.

  • Ability to follow instructions – listens to and applies guidance from the Quality Supervisor.

  • Team player – works cooperatively with others to achieve orchard targets.
